In public toilets there are essential accessories and, among them, there are certainly the bins for the bathroom necessary for the delivery of waste.
One might think that, by virtue of their intended use, bathroom baskets are all more or less the same as each other and that it is not necessary to devote who knows what effort to evaluating their technical characteristics; yet, bathroom waste bins must be chosen with knowledge of the facts if you want the toilet to be functional and tidy. Here are the main aspects to take into consideration when choosing.
Measures
How big should the wastebasket be? Of course, in order for the waste bin to be placed in the bathroom without any problems, the overall dimensions of the object must be taken into account, but an even more important aspect is its internal volume.
In general, small baskets of a few liters (e.g. from 3 to 10) can be placed inside the individual toilets, while containers with larger volumes are generally used near the washbasins (e.g. from 20 to over 40 liters) , since these accessories must contain greater quantities of waste.
The ideal capacity must be determined taking into account the number of people using the toilet, the frequency of emptying by the service staff and the accessories used to dry hands in the bathroom: electric towels are associated with a much lower waste production, one that distinguishes single-use paper towel dispensers.
Lid or not?
Bathroom baskets can be divided into two main categories: open and closed, and in the latter one can find baskets with tilting or kick lids.
Maximum ease of use is associated with the open-shaped bathroom waste bins: the toilet user can deliver the waste without having to touch or operate anything. However, these are containers that inevitably allow a glimpse of the garbage contained within them, which could make purists of order and decor turn up their noses.
For this reason, many choose to equip the toilets of their bars, shops or restaurants with lids. The models equipped with a tilting mechanism are appreciated for easy waste disposal, while the pedal models are appreciated for hygiene as they avoid any contact with hands.
Design and colors
Public toilets should be welcoming and pleasing to the eye and, to achieve this result, proper attention must be paid to the aesthetic appearance of the baskets. It is preferable to choose models with a modern design and lines that are eye-catching, opting if necessary for colors that differ from the 'usual' white. On the market you can find rubbish bins in original color shades (eg green, blue, orange ...) and with special finishes (eg satin) which, with their aesthetic refinement, help to create a pleasant setting in the bathroom.
Material
Last, but not least, is the matter related to the material of which the bathroom baskets are made. Although they are characterized by considerable mechanical resistance, metal products are not always the best choice, as some materials (e.g. iron and steel) are impervious to rust and their weight could also be excessive in the case of models. larger. However, there are valid metal alternatives that bypass these problems, such as small, rustproof and light weight stainless steel baskets.
In general, hard plastic products such as ABS, which offer a good compromise between strength and lightness, are preferred in the washbasin area. In addition, plastic is a material that can withstand damp or wet conditions and offers a long service life.
